Vintage Coach bags can have a very high return on investment. You can determine when a Coach bag was made by checking the code on the internal tag.
Posh Tip: Determine whether a Coach handbag was designed at retail or outlet stores here, as the resale value and quality are slightly different between the two.

Free People is known for stunning bohemian fashion incorporating both the latest trends and vintage vibes, inspired by creativity, art, music, and travel.
Free People originated in the 1970s as a storefront in Philadelphia, which rapidly grew into Urban Outfitters. The modern Free People is a private label wholesale line under Urban Outfitters. It is a contemporary collection designed to inspire the intelligence, creativity, individuality and self-expression of women while retaining quality and affordability. Posh Tip: Free People is loved by everyone, but be sure to closely research resale value, as specific items can be quite over-saturated on reselling platforms! Some Free People pieces can yield hundreds, and others will not sell for much at all. Always look at comps!
Here are a few recent Free People sales in my Poshmark closet:
Free People is what I consider a “bread-and-butter” brand that is a consistent staple to yield a decent ROI every time.
Kate Spade is an amazing designer that produces luxury at an inclusive price point. Kate Spade was founded in 1993 when she started making handbags in her apartment in SoHo, NY.
Kate Spade handbags are distinctive for their sleek look, vibrant colors, and designer quality.
Kate Spade stands for optimistic femininity. In addition to handbags, they design clothes, shoes, jewelry, home décor, tech accessories, and more! Kate Spade is the epitome of chic, with modern, sophisticated styles and colors.
Posh Tip: Kate Brosnahan Spade tragically passed away in 2018. Since then, her early designs have increased in value by her beloved fans and collectors. While all Kate Spade has a decent resale value, the older styles are the most desirable.
This 1990s Vintage Kate Spade bag is one of my favorite thrift finds of all time!
Posh Tip: When sourcing to sell on Poshmark, focus on “Party Brands”; those which are commonly featured in the daily Posh Parties. These are among the best items to sell for profit!

2. Athleisure
Athleisure is a top-selling category on Poshmark and everywhere else, too! Athleisure (as opposed to sportswear) is athletic, casual wear. Think about items that can be work to workout, but also casual such as leggings, yoga pants, tights, sneakers, tanks, and more. Lululemon, of course, is known for athleisure.
3. Chunky Shoes
Right now, it’s all about the chunk. In fact, #chunky is a trending hashtag. Chunky platform shoes, sneakers, mules, and clogs are all so popular.
4. Straight-Leg Jeans
Straight-leg jeans, 90s fit jeans, and mom jeans are super hot this year. People are still wearing skinny jeans, sure, but the straight leg is super popular!
5. Pant Suits
I love that pantsuits are in! Not just formal, business suits but two piece sets. Keep an eye out for blazer and trouser sets, especially in vibrant colors and fun patterns.
6. Belt Bags & Crossbody Bags
Belt bags (especially Lululemon) and crossbody bags are trending on Poshmark and all reselling marketplaces. Who would have thought that fanny packs would make a comeback, right? Keep your eyes out for these!
7. Crop Tops
Crop tops are still in, there’s like no such thing as a full-length top anymore. I assume they will be as long as high rise bottoms are.
Poshmark Tip: Sell accessories! Most accessories are one size fits most, so you broaden your buyer potential significantly when you sell items that will work for more people. Plus, everyone loves a good bag!
