Thinking about selling on Poshmark? Before you list your first item, it’s important to understand how much of your earnings Poshmark keeps.
Poshmark is one of the most popular resale marketplaces, especially for women’s fashion, shoes, and accessories. With over 83 million community members across the United States and Canada, Poshmark is a go-to marketplace for buying and selling fashion and beyond!
But like any selling platform, Poshmark charges fees, and knowing how those fees work is key to pricing your items and maximizing profits.
Main Takeaways:
Poshmark Fees: Posh charges 20% fees or a flat fee of $2.95 for sales under $15.
Posh Protection: The fee includes payment processing, customer support, seller tools, and pre-paid USPS Priority Mail labels.
Shipping costs: The current shipping rate is $8.27 per order, paid by the buyer (unless the seller chooses to offer a discount).
Selling low-priced items isn’t worth it—on sales under $10, the flat $2.95 fee can eat up most of your profit.
Bundling on Poshmark: allows buyers to purchase multiple items in one transaction and pay shipping only once.
Poshmark Live Shows follow the same fee structure.

While $8.27 to ship 5 lbs to any U.S. territory is phenomenal, it is a bit pricey for small items like earrings. Sellers have the option to offer reduced or free shipping (and pay the difference themselves) to entice buyers!
When pricing, also be mindful that buyers pay for sales tax and shipping, so at this time, they pay $8.27 plus applicable sales tax per order. This makes it even more difficult to sell inexpensive items, because the actual cost of a $5 item to your buyer includes nearly $8 for shipping and might include sales tax as well (depending on their state).

With the new Posh Live Auctions, fees are identical to the Poshmark standard fees: 20% of the sale price, and a flat rate of $2.95 for sales under $15.00
This means that if you start your auctions low, under $5, and there aren’t many bidders to raise the price: you won’t make very much money.
While you might be comfortable for $1-$4 per item to liquidate, this is not a sustainable model. The most sustainable model is to try to source for items that you can sell for at least $15-$20.
