If you’re considering Poshmark, you might be interested in reviews from buyers and sellers.
Poshmark is a popular online marketplace for buying and selling a large range of items. Most known for fashion and apparel, Poshmark is a leading peer-to-peer e-commerce marketplace with approximately 80 million registered users across the United States and Canada.
As a leader in secondhand style, Poshmark is a reseller favorite with unparalleled ease of use and an active, social community of buyers and sellers.
Most of the Poshmark reviews we found were positive reviews, especially from sellers. This is surprising as, often people do not take the time to leave a positive review. Even so, the positive reviews for Poshmark are overwhelming.
The Poshmark app has an average 4.8 star rating out of 5 stars in the Apple App Store; an impressive ranking with approximately 822,000 reviews!
Many sellers rave about Poshmark’s user-friendly interface and supportive community. According to the Hustle & Slow Blog:
"One of the biggest benefits of selling on Poshmark is the community aspect. Other sellers will share your listings with their followers, which increases your chances of making a sale. This communal vibe sets Poshmark apart from other marketplaces, making it feel more like a social network than just a selling platform.”
This blog explores the benefits of selling on Poshmark and the success that can be easily-achieved by sellers of any level.
Did you know that Poshmark offers the easiest shipping of all of the reselling marketplaces? All Posh packages ship via USPS Priority Mail, so you can use free packaging supplies at the post office. You also don’t need to print a label: they will scan your QR code at the counter and print one for you!
On the buyer side, Poshmark gets high rankings for the variety of items available. One Google Play reviewer exclaimed, "I found a vintage designer handbag for a fraction of the price I would pay in-store. The selection is incredible!" This sentiment is echoed across numerous reviews, with users praising the ability to find unique pieces at bargain prices.

Despite the positives, there are some downsides. There are also some negative reviews of Poshmark, of course. When people are angry, they are more likely to take the time to leave a review as a form of expression. Let’s take a look at a few:
Sellers often complain about Poshmark’s fees. A review on The Teen Mag pointed out, "The 20% commission that Poshmark takes on sales over $15 can really eat into your profits." Additionally, the shipping costs are often cited as a deterrent for buyers and sellers alike.

Another common gripe is Poshmark’s customer service. On Quora, one user shared, "I had an issue with a purchase, and it took weeks to get a response from customer support. It was incredibly frustrating." This lack of timely assistance can be a major drawback for buyers and sellers who encounter issues on the platform.
Poshmark is one of the most popular marketplaces for Vendoo users, always ranking in the top three alongside eBay and Mercari.
Personally, as both a Vendoo employee and a seller, I love Poshmark. I have been selling on Poshmark for ten years (Since April 2014). I sell on many marketplaces, and Poshmark has always been my favorite and most profitable marketplace. Here’s a quick peek at my Vendoo Seller Analytics:
As you can see, Poshmark accounts for approximately half of my Profit year to date, which is pretty amazing in consideration of all of the places I sell online.
Let’s take a deeper look at listing, maintenance, shipping, fees, and customer service. As a Poshmark seller who sells across marketplaces, I’ll provide my rating for each:
I rate the Poshmark listing process 9 out of 10 stars:
Listing on Poshmark is simple and straightforward. There are no excessive fields, adequate sub-categories for all types of fashion, and a generous title and character length. You can also add many photos and listing videos to your listings, which helps them sell.
You can list on Poshmark and 10 other marketplaces with just one click with Vendoo!
Something I love about Poshmark is that words from the description also yield in the search engine (not just the title) so you can maximize your listings for SEO (search engine optimization) and get more eyes on your items.
I rate the maintenance 5 out of 10 stars, because selling on Poshmark is a lot of work.
Poshmark requires consistent daily listing, constantly sharing your listings, and frequently sending offers. Because the marketplace is so highly saturated, these activities are mandatory for items to be seen in the search engine and newsfeed. Most sellers use a Poshmark Bot to manage these tasks, as they would otherwise press buttons 24/7.
While Poshmark is quite a bit more work than other “list it and leave it marketplaces,” this also means that Poshmark provides more opportunities for exposure and sales.
For example, if you sell on Mercari, there isn’t too much you can do to enhance your exposure; you can list daily, delist/relist, and promote a small handful a day… but that’s it. On Poshmark, you can share your listings to the newsfeed which also advances them in search results. You can also send multiple offers to different buyers at different discount values. So while Poshmark is a lot of work, the tedious tasks are also unique opportunities to make sales.
I rate Poshmark shipping with 10 out of 10 stars, because it is by far the best and easiest shipping.
Shipping on Poshmark could not be more simple. There is only one shipping method on Poshmark: USPS Priority Mail.

Poshmark Sellers can use all Priority Mail shipping containers excluding only Priority Mail Express. My favorite containers for shipping clothes are the Tyvek Envelopes.

Generally, Poshmark sellers do not need to weigh or measure packages. Upon sale, the seller is emailed the shipping label. Because the service is Priority Mail, sellers can use free shipping supplies at the post office. You can even order them to be sent to your house. Similarly, in most areas you can schedule a USPS package pickup: you do not even need to leave your house!
No Printer? No problem. On your order screen you will find a QR code. You can have that scanned at the post office where they will print a label for you. It does not get any easier.
Poshmark and USPS have negotiated an excellent rate for this service: currently $7.97 for up to 5lbs via Priority Mail. The ability to ship 5lbs via Priority Mail to any US territory is phenomenal.
Note that for orders over 5lbs, the shipping label must be upgraded at the seller’s expense. Also note that select electronics ship via USPS Ground due to their batteries.
Poshmark provides the simplest shipping of all peer-to-peer ecommerce marketplaces.
I suppose I have to rate Poshmark 5 out of 10 stars due to their high selling fee in comparison to other marketplaces.
Poshmark fees are 20% of the sale price, or a flat rate of $2.95 for orders with a sale price of $15 or below.
However, I will say that you get what you pay for when it comes to Poshmark fees. While Poshmark fees are higher than many other marketplaces, the value provided is as well:
In consideration of the UX (user experience), tools, features, and audience, I’m happy to pay Poshmark 20%. I rated it 5 starts only because it is much higher than other marketplaces… but not that those other marketplaces do not necessarily have what Poshmark has to offer.
I rate Poshmark's customer service 8 out of 10 stars. Its protection is excellent, especially compared to other marketplaces.
Poshmark customer service is phenomenal… in comparison to other marketplaces. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s perfect, and I would not call it “fast,” but it is still much better than other marketplaces.
Posh Protect, Poshmark’s buyer and seller protection is fair and generous. Poshmark only allows returns in limited circumstances:
Undisclosed damage
Incorrect or missing item
Item not as described
Item is not authentic
In these circumstances, the buyer must submit return requests via a “formal case” within 3 days of delivery. The buyer and seller communicate in a case with each other and Poshmark to reach a resolution. This allows for full transparency as the buyer and seller see everything submitted by the other.
On Poshmark, returns are not allowed for fit, buyer’s remorse, or the buyer changing their mind. This is reassuring as a seller.
In summary, Poshmark reviews report both glowing praise and significant criticisms. Poshmark excels in creating a community-driven marketplace with a wide array of items but might perhaps fall short in areas like fee structure. In all, Poshmark is an excellent place to buy and sell online.
Poshmark reviews for sellers and buyers comprehensively examine the platform’s strengths and weaknesses. As with any marketplace, the key is understanding what you’re getting into and managing your expectations accordingly. Happy Poshing!
