If you’re an online reseller, you must be mindful of marketplace fees. Most marketplaces charge fees for selling in exchange for the audience, hosting, seller tools, seller protection, and shipping rates.
Marketplace fees are something to consider when sourcing and pricing your items. You want to be sure that you source items that you can sell
These metrics and examples are approximations. Note that many marketplace fees cannot be estimated due to the many factors contributing to the final fees, including listing fees, promotional fees, shipping costs, sales tax fees, buyer’s payment method, and withdrawal method.

Otherwise, fees depend on the brand and sale price:
1. 10% selling fees will apply on the item price, with a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $2000
2. Plus, a payment processing fee, with a minimum of $3 or 3% of the sale price for sales >$100.
This chart illustrates selling fees for brands that are not part of the "no selling fees" promotion on Vestiaire.
Note that you cannot list anything on Vestiaire below $18, and you wouldn’t want to. Vestiaire fees require a high sale price to be feasibly profitable.
If you sell a pair of jeans on Vestiaire Collective for $20, you will make $5 after fees.
Sale Price: $20

Poshmark fees are simple and straightforward. It is best to list items that you can sell for at least $15, however. If you sell an item for $3 on Poshmark, you make $0.05.
If you sell a pair of jeans on Poshmark for $20, you will make $16 after fees.
Sale Price: $20
Poshmark fee: $4
You make: $16

eBay fees are the most difficult to ascertain. They truly cannot be estimated due to all of the factors that contribute to them.
If you sell a pair of jeans on eBay for $20 you will make $13.98 after fees under the following parameters:
Sale Price: $25.99 ($20 and $5.99 Shipping)
eBay fees: $6.11 & $5.99 shipping cost
You make: $13.89
That’s right, none. You keep 100% of your sale price on Mercari.
The only small caveat is that they do charge a $2 withdrawal fee to transfer your funds to your bank account. Note that this is not $2 per transaction, it is $2 per withdrawal. You can choose to let your balance build a bit before you withdraw your funds and incur the fee. You can also use your balance to shop on Mercari, and never incur the withdrawal fee.
Depop fees are very low around 4%
Depop eliminated their commission selling fee for listings created after July 2024. As such, Depop only has a small payment processing fee.
If you sell a pair of jeans on Depop for $20, you will make $16.98 after fees under the following parameters:
Sale Price: $20
Payment Processing Fee: $1.11
You make: $18.89
For comparison if this same sale was made as a result of a boost promotion, you would make approximately $14.89.

Grailed fee: $3.03 ($1.80 Grailed commission + $1.23 payment processing fee)
You make: $16.97
💰Kidizen fees are 12% plus $0.50 of the sale price.
If you sell a pair of jeans on Kidizen for $20, you will make $17.10 after fees, but note that you also pay for shipping. So assuming the jeans shipped for $4.85, you would actually make $12.25.
Sale Price: $20
Kidizen fee: $2.90 (selling fee $2.4 + $0.50)
Shipping Fee: $4.85 =
You make: $12.25
Note: On the Kidizen app, you have an option to display the shipping cost as if it is separate than the actual cost. This makes a psychological difference to the buyer. But for the seller, it’s all the same. The seller pays the shipping cost.
If you sell a pair of jeans in a WN Live sale for $20, you will make $18.10 after fees.
Sale Price: $20
WhatNot fee: $1.90 ($1.6 selling fee + $0.50)
You make: $18.10

Etsy fees are difficult to ascertain due to all of the factors that contribute to them.
Expect to pay roughly 12% of the sale price in Etsy fees (if you are not promoting or advertising).
Etsy charges a listing fee of $0.20 per item (which renews every 4 months), a sale fee of 6.5% of the sale price, and a payment processing fee of 3% plus $0.25 (US only).
Note that additional fees apply if you sell items internationally or if you promote your listings. If you’re a high-volume, multi-quantity seller, you will be subject to other mandatory promotional fees like off-site ads.

Sale Price: $20
Etsy fee: $2.35

This is true of Vinted as well, but Vinted does not allow “commercial sellers” (users selling as a business).
