The remainder of this article is in the words of a reseller and their past experience:
I was spending SO much time manually crosslisting to different platforms, including Poshmark, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, and eBay. I found out the hard way that it takes a lot of time and effort to post items to multiple marketplaces. Plus, I had to account for the time it took to go to each individual marketplace to remove the sold items once a buyer purchased them. I was exhausted and frustrated. I knew it was time for a change in my listing strategy.
When I began my search for a crosslisting platform, it seemed overwhelming at first. There are many options out there - and I felt I didn’t know where to begin! I read a few blogs with reviews, went to websites comparing multiple platforms in one article, and visited a few websites of cross-listing platforms. Like my true type A personality, I started a Google Doc with a list of pros, cons, prices, and features offered for each platform I came across.
After weighing the features offered and cost, I finally narrowed my choices down to two: Flyp and Vendoo.
First, I compared the platforms offered by both crosslisting services. The platforms that Flyp supports include Poshmark, Mercari, Ebay, and Facebook. Additionally, Flyp has announced that Etsy, Depop, and Shopify are “coming soon”.
Vendoo’s supported platforms include Poshmark, Mercari, Ebay, Facebook, Etsy, Depop, Shopify, Tradesy, Kidizen, and Grailed. Without Vendoo, I may have never ventured onto new selling platforms, including Depop, Tradesy, or Kidizen. It has pushed me outside of my comfort zone to try to learn new platforms, and I’m so thankful for that! I feel it is a part of the process of becoming a well-rounded reseller. This way, I have more eyes on my items, which will ultimately increase the chances of getting a sale! Outside of marketplaces, Vendoo has so many tools to enhance and optimize listings.
An additional helpful feature Vendoo supports is the ability to mark the item as sold on other platforms. For example, this applies if you sell an item locally on Craigslist. That way, you can still track sales by each platform you sell on, even if it is not (yet) supported by Vendoo.
Next, I compared the cost of crosslisting platforms. One of the most enticing aspects of Flyp is the price: FREE! That may make this platform enticing for resellers who are selling items as a hobby or someone who does not have the means and/or desire to pay for a crosslisting tool.
With Vendoo, I was VERY hesitant to make the jump to start paying for a service. After all, at this point in time, in my reselling business, I was selling items from my own closet and donations from friends and family members. I was shipping my items using recycled Amazon packaging and basically not spending a dime so that I could conserve all of my profits! But as the saying goes, you have to spend money to make money. Vendoo offers flexible tiered plans that can accommodate a reselling business of any size. It will easily grow with you as your reselling business expands.
Even if you don’t use all of your listings for the month, you can make a listing draft i.e., “women’s dress template,” to use at a later time after sourcing new items. Vendoo is very transparent about this practice, too! If you don’t need more listings the next month, you can cancel your subscription, and everything on your account stays as is. This will drop you down to the free account, with 5 listings per month. This was an enticing feature because my sourcing for each month varies! That way, I don’t always have a monthly expense because I can use the templates I already paid for last month.

In addition to the platform and cost, I also was interested in the other features offered by each platform.
Both platforms offer some of the same features. Both Flyp Crosslister and Vendoo have a website that has a universal form where you can start listings. Here, you can upload images, title, description, brand, condition, color, category, shipping and pricing information. From here, the information on the universal form automatically transfers into each specific marketplace form. Both platforms also include a space for internal notes, or notes for your eyes only. This feature is helpful because I like to put an inventory location or where I purchased/received the item for my own data tracking.
Vendoo offers additional features that are unique to Vendoo, including adding labels, templates, and the option to export your inventory as an excel file.
Vendoo labels are extremely helpful, customizable, and thus can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used to track where you obtained an item, for tracking consignment clients, inventory location, and/or for easy communication between you and your virtual assistant (VA).
Vendoo templates have been a game changer for me. It has helped save me so much time during the listing process! I have created multiple templates, including “women’s dress” “men’s shirt”, etc. This way, I am able to pull in the template with a click of a button, and I already have my listing partially filled out with convenient blank spaces for brand, color, size, features, and more giving me a head start to my description.
Additionally, Vendoo has released an app. As a reseller and Vendoo customer, this is such an exciting development! Now resellers can continue to work from the ease of their phone while at home or while on the go! I am a member of the beta test program of the app, and have watched it evolve, improve, add platforms, and become an extremely helpful tool for its customers.
This proves Vendoo is committed to listening to and implementing suggestions from customers, ultimately improving their platform.

The last and most important aspect of my research was my experience with customer service on each platform. I knew this was an aspect that was very valuable to me. Because let’s be honest: life happens, glitches happen, and things go wrong with every platform. I wanted to ensure there was quick and solution-oriented support, so I wasn’t missing a beat with my business! After all, time is money in the resale market.
When I first started my Vendoo trial, I ran into a couple of issues with trying to import a large volume of items from Facebook Marketplace (newbie probs). I conveniently went onto the chat feature right on the website and did a live chat with a Vendoo representative. To my surprise, it wasn’t a bot, it was a real person! They talked me through how to do a reset, and with a few keystrokes and a click of a button, I was back in order! This quick and extremely helpful support has continued throughout my time using Vendoo for any questions or issues that arise. The team is always kind, understanding, and customer service oriented. Additionally, I was able to jump on an onboarding call with Vendoo shortly after I began crosslisting with them. These calls are held weekly and led by a Vendoo team member and go through how to use the tools Vendoo offers. This accelerated my comfortability with Vendoo as I watched an expert go through the details and show examples of how Vendoo can save me time and ultimately help my business!
I couldn’t help but notice that Flyp does not have a chat option on their page. Their contact avenues are limited to submitting a request on their website or through social media. While they may be quick with their responsiveness, the support was not available within seconds to minutes like it was with Vendoo.
At the end of the day, it came down to my personal preference and user experience when deciding which platform I wanted to go with full-time. I did not take this decision lightly, because I knew if I was going to spend a lot of time on the front end uploading all of my listings, I wouldn’t want to switch to a different platform in the future. I can honestly say I am SO happy I ended up choosing Vendoo as my crosslisting platform! And I’ll never look back. For full transparency, before Vendoo, I was consistently profiting around $400 a month by selling mostly on Facebook Marketplace. After crosslisting my inventory with Vendoo, the first month and every month since then, I have profited between $1000-$1800 per month! Vendoo continues to improve its platform, making a conscious effort to respond to and implement suggested changes by users, and their customer support continues to be quick and always has the solution!
However, all resellers have to weigh the pros and cons and make the right choice for their business. After all, there is no one way to own a successful reselling business. I advise all resellers to assess their goals, find aspects of their business they would like to automate more and know their numbers really well in order to make an informed decision about which avenue is best for their specific situation.
Even though I did not choose to continue with Flyp as a crosslisting platform, I continue to use Flyp as a pro seller. This allows me to receive inventory from consignment customers in order to elevate my business. However, that is a story for another day!
If you are a reseller looking to take your business to the next level, I fully stand behind Vendoo as a platform that can accelerate you in that process. Due to hard work, consistency, and my investment in Vendoo, I can see my dream of owning a successful and sustainable not-so-small-business come to life right in front of my eyes.
